HELICOPTER TRAINING
Turn Passion into Profession

Commercial Pilot License (H)
The aim of the Commercial Pilot License (H) modular course is to train PPL (H) licenceholdersto the level of proficiency necessary for issue of the EASA CPL(H) licence. As a CPL(H) licence holder you will have all of the rights and privileges of a PPL(H) licence holder, plus the ability to be paid as a professional pilot;operating as Captain of single-pilot helicopters, or as co-pilot in a multi-pilot helicopter. The course will provide you with all of the skills and knowledge necessary to pass the CPL(H) skill test and start your career as a professional helicopter pilot.
Duration
On a full time basis the course can be completed in 3 to 4 weeks, however it can also be carried out over a longer period on a pay-as-you-go basis, for those unable to commit to a full time schedule. To enrol on the CPL (H) Modular Course you must hold a PPL(H) licence and have logged a total of 155 hours as a pilot.Flight duration is the minimum required by regulation, and is dependent on student performance. More hours may be required at additional cost.
Pre-entry requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- PPL (H) Holder (ICAO Annex1/EASA)
- 155 hours flight time, including 50 hours as PIC in helicopters of which at least 10 hours are cross country PIC
- CPL(H) or ATPL(H) Theoretical knowledge exams completed
- Valid EASA Class 1 medical
Theoretical Knowledge Requirements
With further hours and experience as a professional pilot the CPL(H) licence may be upgraded to the Airline Transport Pilot’s licence ATPL(H), if the theoretical knowledge requirements are also met. For this reason we recommend that the student complete the ATPL(H) theoretical knowledge course rather than the CPL(H) theoretical knowledge
course, as it is over and above the CPL(H) theory requirements and will mean you meet the theoretical knowledge requirements to obtain the higher level of licence in the future. The full APTL(H) theory is 14 exams – for more information please see the ATPL(H) theory section of our website.
Included in the course
- 30 hours dual training in the helicopter
- All ground briefings before and after each flight
